Dia De Los Reyes Magos — the 15th Annual Three Kings’ Day Epiphany celebration, a lovely holiday tradition in Latin cultures, presented by Florida Institute for Community Studies on Sat., Jan. 4, 1-4 p.m. at the Iglesia de Dios Elim, 5801 Hickman St., Wimauma. The event hands out toys to children of needy families and celebrates the 12th and final day of Christmas, when Christians observe the wise men's arrival at Jesus' birth site. Organized by community members who identified the need to teach children the meaning of the holiday season as it is celebrated across the world, the highly interactive Three Kings event allows kids to participate in educational games, face-painting and art. Three Kings re-enactors will ride in on horseback followed by theatrical and dance performances relevant to the Epiphany holiday. Garcia’s Bakery in Wimauma is donating the traditional rosca de reyes bread ring eaten by Spanish and Portuguese cultures during the holiday.
