British sculptor, Jamie McCartney, spent the last five years making plaster molds of vaginas. Early on in the project he realized how many women worry about how their vaginas compare to other women. This prompted McCartney to create a "Great Wall of Vagina," featuring hundreds of molds of vaginas.
For his sculpture, McCartney casted over 400 women. His subjects came from diverse background: mothers and daughters, identical twins, transsexuals, pre and post natal mothers, women with genital piercings... His goal was to help bolster women's body images by dispelling the myth of a "perfect vagina."
