Explore the cultural significance of America's parks and natural preservation areas at USF Centre Gallery's current exhibit, See America First.

The installation, consisting of painted backdrops and interactive three-dimensional installations, is intended to explore how Americans use nature as symbols for national identity and their own personal validation.

The satirical bent is obvious, as the artists invite patrons into a gallery to experience reproductions of "nature," while questioning whether the real thing is that much more "real" after all.

Artists Jackie Flavio and Sam Robinson. Robinson is a fourth year Bachelor of Fine Arts student with a focus on sculpture, whose work can be viewed at samrob.com. Flavio is also in her fourth year, pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a focus on painting. Her work can be found at jflavio.com.

Viewing hours are 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The exhibit's closing reception is 7–9 p.m. on Fri., Feb. 28, and Centre Gallery is located on the second floor of USF Tampa's Marshall Student Center.
