Modest Mouse will return to Florida and hit up The Beacham Theatre in Orlando on Fri., May 16.
This will be Isaac Brock and Company's first Florida appearance in five years. They played a one-off in Miami following what was supposed to be an appearance at the abruptly-cancelled Langerado Music Festival back in 2009. Before that, they played at Hard Rock Live in Orlando in 2008 in support of their last proper full-length We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank. They last appeared in Tampa at the old (smaller) Orpheum back in 2004 (yeesh, time flies) right before their biggest album to date, Good News for People Who Love Bad News and its ubiquitous single "Float On" blew right the fuck up into the mainstream.
Needless to say, this will be a much-cherished appearance for Modest Mouse fans across the state. What'll probably be more cherished, though, is the forthcoming album they've been teasing for eternity. There's no word on when the apparently Big Boi-produced, Krist Novoselic-starring album will come to fruition, but you can probably expect a handful of new songs at their Orlando stop if past performances are any indication. Tickets to Modest Mouse's May 16 show at The Beacham go on sale tomorrow (March 14) at noon. Prices are $40 in advance and $55 at the door.
