If you love the Rowdies, stand up — and come to St. Petersburg to kick off the 2014 campaign with two festive events.
On Friday, the Tampa Bay Rowdies will host a meet-and-greet and jersey unveiling from 8 to 10 p.m. at the Mahaffey Theater in downtown St. Petersburg.
Fans will be able to meet the entire 2014 team, including NASL Golden Ball winner Georgi Hristov, NASL Golden Boot winner Brian Shriver and newly acquired goalkeeper Matt Pickens, along with returning Head Coach Ricky Hill, General Manager Perry Van Der Beck and the club’s passionate new ownership.
Attendees will also get a sneak peek at the new jerseys and the entire line of 2014 Rowdies apparel and accessories. Music and entertainment presented by DJ Fresh Events. Complimentary beer, wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served.
This Saturday, April 5, the Rowdies Fan Fest will help gather momentum from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Al Lang Stadium.
The event will sport an interactive soccer playground of sorts in which young fans (and who knows, possibly older ones) can participate in drills designed by Rowdies players, in addition to playing soccer on a giant inflatable field.
Patrons will also be able to see the new Midfielder's Club and Midfielder's Reserved seating sections and choose their seats for the upcoming season, which begins a week later when the Rowdies host the FC Edmonton on Saturday, April 12.
