Andre Johnson, who performs under the name "Christ Bearer" in the group Northstar allegedly attempted suicide by cutting off his penis then leaping off the second floor balcony of his North Hollywood apartment complex early Wednesday morning.When police arrived at 1am, they found Johnson, 40, lying on the sidewalk with critical injuries. He was immediately rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
There is little information about what may have provoked Johnson. Two members of Northstar who live in the same apartment complex said Johnson acted without warning. The musicians told TMZ that they hadn't used "any hard drugs that would cause him to do such a thing."
The incident occurred less than a day after the release of Johnson's new music video "OOOH!".
Although Johnson has collaborated with Wu-Tang Clan producer and leader RZA, according to RawStroy.com, the band's website now has this statement: “Parental Advisory: Don’t Believe The HYPE. This Mother F*cker Ain’t Got Sh*t to do with The WUTANG Brand.”
