In addition to carving out an admirable performance career of his own, Garry Breul (pictured above) has helped raise funds for local charities, bringing uproarious and inspirational performances to Tampa Bay to help fund the fight against HIV/AIDS. We're sad to report that his fight has concentrated on his own health recently — Breul was recently diagnosed with cancer in his lungs and brain.
This Monday, the theater community of Tampa Bay will gather for A Life Onstage, a fundraising show presented by Tree Fort Productions in support of Breul's fight against cancer. The one-night-only concert at Florida Studio Theatre's Gompertz Theatre will bring together some of area's top dancers, actors and singers at 7 p.m. this evening at 1241 N. Palm Ave., Sarasota.
