A few good shows taking place on this Hump Day. Take note; and party lightly, don't forget that you have a three-day weekend ahead...

Lindsey Stirling The advent of internet sensations on YouTube have given unknown artists the chance to become superstar performers. Crossover experimental violinist Lindsey Stirling ranks as perhaps the most unorthodox of them all. Fresh off the release of her second LP Shatter Me and a performance at Youtube’s nine-year birthday party at the Kennedy Center, this talented musician effortlessly weaves together hip-hop, indie, dubstep, and various other genres as she painstakingly summons a wide spectrum of mellow riffs from her violin. With a track record that includes a near-victorious stint on America’s Got Talent and an accumulation of more than 400 million views on her YouTube channel, Stirling’s musical dexterity seemingly knows no bounds. 7 p.m., Jannus Live, St. Petersburg. Cody Smith

The Menzingers with Lemuria, PUP, Cayetana Scranton, Penn. pop punk outfit The Menzingers dropped a so-far-so-solid album Rented World in April and along with it, an amusing video for the LP's lead-off single, "I Don't Want to Be an Asshole Anymore." The song, a triumphant blast of self-deprecation and righteous sing along-ability, gets the ol' movie murderer treatment as star Jason Vorhees tries to start a new life after realizing the errors of his teen-murdering ways. Jason embarks on montage-y quest for normalcy, doing things like online dating, putting up a poster with a kitten dangling in the air above the words "Hang in There," and giving his new crush the John Cusack treatment as he holds a boombox blasting the song above his head in her yard. It's funny, it's dumb, it's just the thing you need to check out before seeing The Menzingers when they hit Ybor in support of Rented World. Check the video below. 7:30 p.m., Orpheum, Ybor City.–Ray Roa
