As if it weren’t enough that we’re enjoying a holiday weekend, Dunedin Brewery is throwing a weekend-long anniversary bash that marks its 18th year of brewing and serving craft beers to the Bay area public.

The brewery marks the occasion as expected: by cracking open some special edition batches, both new (an 18th Anniversary American Pilsner and a white IPA with hibiscus called Moon Reflects on Hibiscus) and aged (like the 2008 Spatz Barleywine), as well as living up to its rep as Dunedin’s live music haven by welcoming back favorite acts to play the stage over the next four days.

Grand Rapids, Mich. five-some Ultraviolet Hippopotamus hits on pre-holiday Thursday with electro, prog and space-jazz fusion, while 4th of July Friday sees the return of local jam favorites COPE. Saturday delivers the funked-up sounds of The Fritz direct from Asheville, and Folly Beach, S.C.-based trio Dangermuffin brings the festivities to a close on Sunday with their genre-jumping ska-imbued roots rock.

Details:Dunedin Brewery 18th Anniversary Weekend with Ultraviolet Hippopotamus, COPE, The Fritz, Dangermuffin, Thurs.-Sun., July 3-6, 7-11 p.m. nightly, Dunedin Brewery, Dunedin, free admission.
