At last, a perfectly good reason to not hit the snooze button this upcoming Thursday morning.
St. Petersburg's largest pajama party, hosted by the Downtown Business Association, is back on for its 41st anniversary.
The annual Sunrise Sale, beginning as early as 6:43 a.m. and continuing throughout the day (till around 5 p.m.), features more than 40 downtown St. Petersburg merchants and businesses, art galleries included. Expect "door-buster" sales and special offers, but of course, only if you were your PJs and bring some paper — and pantry goods. After all, most businesses will be collecting donations for the Ronald McDonald House.
Follow the yellow flags along Downtown, these will indicate which stores are participating in the sale (here's a full list). The downtown Looper Trolley will provide free transportation to participating merchants from 7 to 10 a.m
This year's theme, "PaJammin'", adds a beach party atmosphere to the event. Keep a lookout for models wearing beach attire, they will be roaming downtown with free goodies for lucky shoppers. There will be free cake at the main tent, located on the lawn of the Museum of Fine Arts, and many merchants will be offering coffee, mimosas, and tasty breakfast treats.
Many of the art galleries on Central, including Florida Craftsmen and Michelle Tuegel Contemporary will be offering up to 40 percent discount on their art stock.
Don't miss this chance to treat yo' self to some cool art.
Strands of Sunshine, will also be offering great deals on their fabulous decorative objects and hand-crafted jewelry. SS, will be offering their signature Swarovski Crystal necklaces for $20 instead of its regular price.
Food and drink will also be discounted all around downtown. Keep a close eye on the Sunrise Sale FB page; extra special sale information will be posted there as well!
