The Palm Harbor School of the Novel hosts its monthly meet-up at Organic Life Café, 35362 U.S. 19 N., Tuesday, Aug. 5, 6:30 p.m. Bring up to three pages for other members to read and critique.

Bruce Hadburg, author of Wacky, Warped & Wicked, will discuss the process of building a non-fiction book. His Wednesday, Aug. 6 seminar for the Tampa Writers Alliance, held at the Carrollwood Cultural Center, will include topic selection, organization, humor and story.

Meet and greet more than 30 black authors, and dozens of black business owners and non-profit groups at the Tampa Bay Black Authors and Business Showcase on Saturday, Aug. 9, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the St. Petersburg Museum of History. This free program includes author talks, book signings and live entertainment. It was organized in support of National Black Business Month, which takes place in August and was founded by Frederick E. Douglas and John William Templeton over 10 years ago. Support the Largo Public Library’s Teen Room at its Book Maniacs’ Mini-Golf Fundraiser Saturday, Aug. 9, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the library, 120 Central Park Drive. Putter around the vendor shopping area or cool off at one of the two indoor, book-themed courses. The 18-hole Family Fairway Course is spread out throughout the library and costs $2 per person or $6 per group of four per round. The 9-hold Toddler Tee-Off Course in the Children’s Program Room is free for children under 4 and their adult helpers. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. This cash-only event is sponsored by the Friends of Largo Library and developed by teen volunteers.

Meet ‘60s music icon Graham Nash at noon on Saturday, Aug. 9. Before his band Crosby, Stills & Nash take the stage at Ruth Eckerd Hall that evening, Nash will be signing copies of his memoir, Wild Tales: A Rock & Roll Life, at the Clearwater Barnes and Noble, 23654 U.S. 19 N.
