And the first episode of FYI Network’s new TV series The Feed, premiering at 10 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, pits three culinary personalities against each other to see who can craft the food world’s next big “mash-up.”
Every week, Feed co-hosts Gail Simmons of Food and Wine Magazine and Top Chef, award-winning chef-restaurateur Marcus Samuelsson and food writer and comedian Max Silvestri will face off in food challenges, which focus on innovative trends in food culture and culinary scenes around the country. The show will feature everything from dish creations to product design.
Simmons, Samuelsson and Silvestri will hit the streets of New York for their showdowns, too, stopping into places like restaurants and specialty food shops for further insight and advice.
During The Feed’s debut episode, for example, Samuelsson talks with chef and bakery owner Dominique Ansel, who invented the cronut, about what it takes to formulate a successful food mash-up like a croissant-doughnut.
The series will air with two back-to-back episodes on the 21st.
