St. Petersburg’s boutique label Sunshine Drenchy Records reps some high-class talent and five acts on its roster hit the Palladium during a special showcase party. [More info after the jump.]
The past several months have seen The Ditchflowers on hiatus while member Ed Woltil worked the solo angle and pimped a fresh LP, Paper Boats, but the melody-rich pop rock band fronted by Brian Merrill returns to co-headline the party with Steve Connelly & The Lesser Gods, another act that’s been MIA but for much longer – two years almost to the day. Nice to see the guitar slinger’s roots rock band back on stage. Woltil also performs with his own band, The Loaded Question, Ricky Wilcox & The Moonsnakes (led by Deloris Telescope former Wilcox) brings their mix of power-pop and soulful rock, and rounding out the festivities is folk rocker Steve Robinson (former sideman to Roger McGuinn). All ticket-holders get a free CD from the Sunshine Drenchy catalog.
