Care to take a trip back to Springfield and binge on Bart, Lisa, Marge and Homer d'ohnanigans?
FXX is airing all 552 episodes of The Simpsons in the longest single-series marathon in TV history. The network can be found on ch. 120 on Bright House, 191 on Verizon FiOS and 259 on DirecTV. The marathon kicked off with the pilot from December 1989 at 10 a.m. and continues through all 552 episodes, going all the way up to the 25th season finale that aired this past spring, and ends Sept. 1 at 11:30 p.m. In addition, The Simpsons movie will be shown at 6 p.m. Aug. 29.
NPR's Fresh Air has a great segment on the marathon if you're feeling nostalgic for Springfield's zaniest family and would like more info on the show's history and creation. Also, The New York Times Arts Beat has a "cromulent"guide to must-watch Simpsons episodes airing during the marathon.
Here's a clip from my personal favorite: "E-I-E-I-D'oh!" ... "Glove slap, baby glove slap!"
