On Tuesday, the Charlie Crist campaign attacked Rick Scott regarding his record on abortion rights with a new ad.
On Wednesday the Republican Party answered back with a web ad, cleverly using Crist's new ad, but with Crist's face popping up from earlier debates when he was pro-life, such as the last time he ran for governor in 2006.
As PolitiFact noted back in April, Crist has been "all over the map" when it comes to abortion rights. In 1998, then state Senator Charlie Crist voted to override Gov. Lawton Chiles’ veto of a bill that banned what opponents call a "partial birth" abortion, a late-term procedure.
In his run for governor in 2006, he blasted his GOP opponent, Tom Gallagher, as "pro-choice" in an ad. Crist also called himself a "positive, pro-life, Ronald Reagan Republican" in that same ad.
