Joining other U.S. craft beer destinations like Colorado and Oregon, Tampa is in the running for the 10Best Readers' Choice travel award for Best Beer Town.Sponsored by USA Today, the contest's panel of beer pundits, who determined the 20 contestants, consisted of Bon Beer Voyage CEO Ruth Berman, beer critic Gary Monterosso and journalists Tara Nurin and Lydia Schrandt, who cover craft beer.
Voting lasts until noon Monday, Oct. 13. 10Best will announce the winners Oct. 15, and USA Today will also do so.
Last year, USA Today named Cigar City one of the top 15 breweries in the country. Tampa's growing roster of beer makers includes other popular haunts such as Six Ten Brewing, Three Palms Brewing, Tampa Bay Brewing Company and Coppertail Brewing Co.
