Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections Craig Latimer has a message for those of you who've received a mailer saying that you're absentee ballot should have already been mailed to you.

No, it shouldn't have.

The specific mailers were sent by Let's Get to Work, a political action group trying to get Rick Scott re-elected, say "Voter Alert! Your Absentee Ballot Should Have Arrived..."

"Has your absentee ballot arrived?,” the back of the mailer read. “By now, you should have received your absentee ballot.”

But the Hillsborough Supervisor of Elections Office says - not quite yet, thank you.

A statement from Latimer's office says, "Florida Statute gives Supervisors of Elections a window, from September 30th - October 7th, to mail out their first delivery of domestic Vote By Mail ballots. The exception is military and overseas voters. Hillsborough County followed Florida Statute and sent ballots out to military and overseas voters on September 19th."

So now you know.

Latimer's office also goes on to say that beginning next week,  more than 150,000 ballots will go out to registered voters who have requested a Vote By Mail ballot. After that, ballots will be mailed to voters within 48 hours of when the office receives the request. Voters have until October 29th to request a Vote By Mail ballot be sent to them.
