Two very different shows happening this Tue., Sept. 30. Info on both below.

Nicki Bluhm & The Gramblers with Daryl Hance
“It’s a little too late to die young,” Nicki Bluhm belts out in “Little Too Late,” her dulcet vocals tunefully drawling or soulfully howling over 11 tracks in the self-titled debut from the San Francisco-based songstress and her band, their music a rambling, organ groove-oriented mix of folk rock, Americana and roots-and-psych-flecked rock n’ roll. On a side note, Nicki’s husband Tim Bluhm – guitarist of The Mother Hips and sideman to numerous others – co-writes most of her songs, arranged and produced Nicki Bluhm & The Gramblers, and serves as the band's musical director. 8 p.m., Capitol Theatre, Clearwater, $22 & $32.

Torche with New Cathedral, Julia Set, Surly Torche is South Florida’s leading sludge metal group, and have been practicing their brand of loud and heavy from Miami since 2004; former Riddle of Steel guitarist Andrew Elstner joined in 2011 and makes up one-half of the two-axe assault led by Torche primary Steve Brooks. 7 p.m. doors, Orpheum, Ybor City, $12-15 (all ages).
