Fall Into free art shows this autumn

Cool breezes, lower humidity and sunny skies have a way of getting us outside. Enjoy Florida's outdoor scenery and art at events throughout the Tampa Bay area and surrounding areas.

Autumn ARTS Festival
Sun., Oct. 12, 10 a.m.-5 p.m

Kick off fall at the 1st Annual Autumn ARTS Festival, sponsored by Jungle Terrace Civic Association, West Central Village and the City of St. Petersburg. The free event will feature artists of pottery, paintings, photography, woodwork, and sewn items, as well as flower arranging demonstrations, performances, food vendors, and much more. Celebrate autumn in St. Petersburg while supporting local Tampa Bay artists. Sunset Park, Central Avenue & Park Street, St. Petersburg. 

The 41st Annual Winter Park Autumn Art Festival
Sat.-Sun., Oct. 11-12

It's the only juried art show to feature Florida artists exclusively. Held annually on the second weekend in October, this free community-oriented sidewalk show presents quality visual art, live entertainment, children's activities and more. The festival is held in beautiful Central Park located along historic Park Avenue in downtown Winter Park. 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Central Park in Downtown, 
 251 S. Park Avenue, Winter Park. 

Silverhawk Native American Flute Gathering” and Arts and Craft Show
Sat.-Sun., Oct. 18-19
Dock Green Silverhawk will be hosting his 11th annual festival, which offers the music of 17 accomplished performers — flute players, singers, storytellers, and Sacred Thunder Drum. The  tranquil, feel-good break from the daily grind will have workshops, a drum circle and artisans and retailers selling beadwork, jewelry  original art work, leather work, artifacts and more. Food vendors with Indian tacos, fry bread, buffalo burgers, hamburgers, hot dogs, kettle corn, roasted corn, homemade ice cream and drinks will keep fest-goers fed and quenched.  Admission and parking is $2 a carload; folding chairs are recommended, and camping options are available. 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Withlacoochee River Park, 12449 Withlacoochee Blvd, Dade City.

Clearwater Beach Chalk Walk
Fri.-Sun., Oct. 24-26
Most fun you'll have looking down. The show takes place over three days and displays masterful chalk artworks and designs along the sidewalk and promenades of Clearwater Beach. Artists begin work on Friday afternoon and work through the weekend on their compositions; judging and awards take place on Sunday afternoon. Fri., 9 a.m.-6 p.m.; Sat., 9 a.m.-6 p.m., and Sun., 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Mandalay Avenue, Clearwater.

Dunedin: Art Harvest
Sat.-Sun.., Nov. 1-2

Celebrating Art Harvest’s 51st year, the Junior League of Clearwater-Dunedin hosts over 200 nationally acclaimed artists and more than 50,000 guests at Highlander Park during the first weekend of November for this free event. Art Harvest is currently the largest juried outdoor fall art show in the Tampa Bay area and continues to grow year after year. While adults browse the artists’ booths, a Children’s Tent provides an interactive art experience for kids with arts and crafts projects related to the current year’s theme. As JLCD’s largest annual fundraiser, all proceeds from Art Harvest are reinvested back into the community via grants and community projects adopted by their membership comprised of over 500 local women. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Highlander Park, 1920 Pinehurst Road, Dunedin.

26th Annual St. Armands Art Festival
Sat.-Sun., Nov. 8-9

Sarasota's popular retail and dining destination will be transformed into an outdoor art gallery with original artwork and affordable gift items by more than 200 artists from the U.S. Browse eclectic art, listen to live music and enter a free art giveaway. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Free.
