The handiwork of a talented group of students from the USF School of Architecture and Community Design will be on display for two weeks at Tempus Projects, from Oct. 11 through Oct. 24.

14 Chairs will feature handmade chairs, which are the fruits of eight weeks of an intensive program that schooled the students on furniture design and construction.

The 14 chairs on display represent a variety of skills and technologies, including woodworking, welding, upholstery, hand-made joinery, digital fabrication and more.

The exhibit's opening reception, sponsored partly by The Mermaid Tavern, will take place tonight, Oct. 11, from 7 to 10 p.m. It is free and family-friendly, and classes, groups and patrons of all ages are welcome.

After the party, there's an after party at The Mermaid Tavern, beginning at 10 p.m.

Tempus projects is located at 4636 N. Florida Ave., Tampa. The Mermaid can be found at 6719 N. Nebraska Ave., Tampa.
