Palm Harbor's newest coffee shop, Java's Coffee & More, quietly opened its doors around the beginning of last month at 2706 Alt. 19.
Nestled in the Key West Plaza next to Rum Runners, Java's offers classic caffeinated liquids like espressos and lattes, as well as Q-Bean organic coffee. Smoothies, pastries (a whole deli case), salads and sandwiches fashioned with Boar's Head ingredients also outfit its lineup.
The shop's hosting family-friendly events for two days to celebrate its grand opening, starting with a ribbon-cutting ceremony from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday.
From noon to 5 Saturday, a plaza party will keep the java buzz going. Patrons can expect DJ tunes, vendor booths, activities for kids, Wii games projected on a huge screen and more.
Redington Shores folks also commemorated the grand opening of Gypsy Souls Coffeehouse at 10 a.m. Thursday, though the shop's been open since June 9.
Owner Matthew Olafsen runs the joint at 17465 Gulf Blvd., which serves up teas, beans by local roastery Sombra Coffee, pastries and more. Patrons should snag a seat on the outdoor patio.
