DeNote, a beer writer and the editor of FloridaBeerNews.com, will showcase his well-traveled suds guide, and first book, at Tampa's Inkwood Books at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Last week, the author told South Florida's Sun Sentinel that the state is undergoing "the rebirth of artisanal beer." And the Bay area sees it. A growing number of drinkers are gathering 'round tasting room barstools, filling up their growlers and discovering new tastes.
DeNote's book highlights locally made and inventive brews from Destin to Key West, as well as insider interviews with brewery owners and beer-makers. (Read Scott Harrell's latest sit-down with Pair O' Dice Brewing for CL.)
The guide also discusses Florida's history with beer, including Tampa's Florida Brewing Company, the first brewery in the state, and forgotten joints like Jacksonville Brewing Company.
The bookstore's free presentation and book signing will feature Cigar City Brewing pours, coupled with grub and java from the Buddy Brew Coffee food truck.
