Pre-Fest is going to wreck us over the next 48 hours, watch us crash and burn live as it happens.
There are approximately 75 bands set to take over five Ybor City venues over the next two days and nights. It’s all thanks to punk rock party The Fest, which stages their second ever invasion of Seventh Avenue for Pre-Fest, a two-day warm up in advance of the punk rock bacchanal that happens in Gainesville this weekend. Our livers are already cringing watching the onslaught of Pre-Festers swill down cheap beer and booze.
This year’s Pre-Fest festivities include several free shows (tomorrow’s comedy set at Market on 7th, the acoustic stage at Tequila’s) and at least one Japanese movie monster wrestling match (read: Kaiju Big Battel). CL is jumping in tonight as we attempt to cover the madness that will surely ensue.
If you’re not in the mood to brave the party (or scared that you’ll end up with one of these commemorative Fest tattoos), then use the power of social media to follow CL as we try to keep up with all the goings on. You can play along by tagging your Instagram photos with Pre-Fest’s official hashtag (#PreFestYbor2) and seeing them pop up above, and we’ll also be streaming our Twitter messages from the pit below as well.
There may still be a few more two-day, multi-venue passes available for $60 at Pre-Fest headquarters (Hilton Garden Inn, 1700 E. 9th Ave, Ybor City), and you can pay for admission to individual venues if you’d rather save a few bucks and camp out at one place. Visit Pre-Fest’s official website for more info. See the schedule here.
