On Tuesday, St. Pete Beach's Maritana Grille at the Don CeSar Hotel announced its new tasting menu partnership with Savory Spice Shop in downtown St. Pete.

The restaurant's lineup, which costs $85 per person, features seasonal and staple flavors like star anise, pumpkin spice, saffron and sea salt alongside state-raised proteins, including pork from Avon Park's Palmetto Creek Farms.

"Our new relationship with Savory Spice Shop St. Pete is a natural fit to reinforce our commitment to keep things local," said the hotel's general manager Stephen Cummings in a news release.

Led by chef de cuisine Gavin Pera, the four-course tasting menu also boasts Ibérico Jamón, Spain's toothsome cured ham, with organic olive oil by Clearwater's Melina International Trading Company and lemon grass. A specialty wine pairing menu is available, too.

Paul Bailey, who runs Savory Spice with his wife Joan, opened the spacious spice store in 2010 after stopping into a similar shop in Denver.

Savory Spice and Maritana plan to organize a dinner series, cooking demonstrations and culinary tours at the restaurant next year.
