This weekend is Motorfest Weekend, an annual three-day-long car show/event presented by Cars & Couture, which will raise money for Autism Speaks, an organization dedicated to funding global biomedical autism research, and Wheels of Success, a program founded to help provide families in need with reliable personal transportation.
Festivities begin on Nov. 7 with Cars & Couture, an exotic car display and couture fashion show. The event will be held at the Mansion on the Bay. Guests can look forward to an opulent reception, featuring the $1.2 Million McLaren P1, along with plenty more exotic automobiles, a silent auction, fine wine and cigars, live music, and an all-out couture fashion show.
The second day keeps the mufflers roaring with some rubber-burnnin' fun at the Showtime Speedway on Nov. 8. There, the Track Challenge will feature an autocross event for those who think they can drive, and a drag strip event to see which competitor can shag-ass the fastest. Music, food, contests, vendors, ride a-longs, and a charity car presentation by Wheels of Success will also add to the party.
Motorfest stays rollin' on through Sun., Nov. 9, with the 12th Annual Vintage Motor Classic at the St.Petersburg Yacht Club. This premium classic car show will be displayed throughout the waterfront lawn and feature over 300 pre-1980 show vehicles. The award presentation begins at 3 p.m. and will be kicked-off by St.Petersburg Mayor, Rick Kriseman.
Admission to Cars & Couture’s exotic car and fashion show is $80 per person (must be 21 or older). Tickets for Day two; the Speedway Track Challenge are $20 at the door for spectators and $55 for drivers who want to test their skills. Day three is free for spectators and $25 in advance for drivers of pre-1980 vehicles ready to participate in the Vintage Motor Classic.
Cars & Couture's Motorfest Weekend was founded and created by Tampa Bay resident and Luxe Fashion Group owner, Dona Crowley, in collaboration with William Waters, founder of the Vintage Motor Classic.
“The event was designed with the car enthusiast in mind, creating something they would truly enjoy and remember," says Crowley. "Every year I look for new ways to enhance and grow the event; this year I am extending it into a three day weekend event combining the elegant and stylish Cars & Couture with track action, [while] collaborating with the beautiful St.Petersburg Yacht Club for a stunning vintage display,” says Crowley.
2014 Sponsors include Power Design, Dimmitt Automotive Group, Continental Wholesale Diamonds, U.S. Air-conditioning and Heating, Villa Bellini Restaurant & Lounge, U.S. Gold & Silver, Redline Design, Family Beautiful Magazine, Tampa Style Magazine, Orlando Weekly, Auto Class Magazine, and Hair Du Soleil.
