
As you may have heard by now, a rodeo clown put on a Barack Obama mask as the announcer asked crowd if theyd like to see the president run over by a bull.
Nick Finzer, McKalip's campaign manager, wrote in a comment to WTSP's Web site that "I think I'd like to see Obama run down by a bull. Except that would make Biden President."
Make of it what you will. And fair or unfair, McKalip is going to be held to a different standard when it comes to invective against Obama, since he's had to live down his unfortunate e-mail that depicted Obama as a witch doctor.
McKalip gave a rather testy response to 10 News' Beau Zimmer in responding to the story, saying it was a distraction from the "real issues." Ya think? No doubt McKalip will have to answer to this at today's Tiger Bay Club forum in St. Pete.

It was an intense media scene yesterday at the Tampa offices of CAIR, where a team of local attorneys announced that they are representing the family of Ibragim Todashev, the 27-year-old Chechen-American who was killed while speaking with law enforcement officials in May in Orlando. Todashev was a friend of Boston marathon bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev, and the facts surrounding his death have shrouded in mystery.
And there's another St. Pete mayoral debate scheduled for tonight. The last candidates forum, held on Monday night, struck as a bit unusual in that challenger Kathleen Ford seemed to be agreeing with most of what Mayor Bill Foster has been doing over the past 3.5 years, making some question what's the purpose of even running then?
