Angela Sommers assured me her feature dance performance with fetish queen Anastasia Pierce would be clean. At the time, I didn't fully grasp what she meant by this statement.
Considering that the penthouse pet would be dancing as her vampire alter-ego, Callidora, at the Medical Madness party, I had assumed there would be blood — lots and lots of fake blood. However, Sommers informed me that it's illegal to use fake blood during a pornographic performance — a problem she recently faced while filming the lesbian fetish film Vamps with Pierce. The reason has something to do with the fear of pairing sexual desire and blood lust, even though mainstream slasher films regularly combine sex and violence. True to her word, Sommers didn't use fake blood. And she found a way to keep her filthy performance clean, in a matter of speaking.
Standing at the front of the stage at The Castle in Ybor City, I realized a bit too late that I was in the heart of the fetish performance's "splash zone" without so much as a poncho to protect me from all the fluids flying off stage. Of course some soapy water in the eyes was a small price to pay for a front-row view of Sommers and Pierce cleaning up their mess with sponges and tongues.
