August, week four, brings some much anticipated new releases. Check out the ones you want to know about most below, plus some other ones you may not have heard of (but should know), with audio & video for your listening and viewing pleasure. The iconic surf pop ensemble opened up their archives to be mined for this career-spanning six-CD boxed set, which charts the band’s 50-year career via more than 60 previously unreleased songs, demos, alternate takes and mixes, and live recordings of concert, television and radio performances, making for a suitable conclusion to the band’s year of anniversary celebrations.

Belle and Sebastian, The Third Eye Centre (Matador)
Alas, it's not a new album but the second compilation from the beloved Scottish indie pop band, which includes select B-Sides and rarities the band have released since their previous comp, Push Barman to Open Old Wounds.

The San Francisco indie folk rock band know for their percussive infused style presents their fifth LP. Singer/guitarist Meric Long and drummer/percs man Logan Kroeber decided to start over, following the uncertainty of the band’s direction and unexpected passing of touring guitarist Chris Reimer.
