A Brandon rock & roll band with a love of ice cream. by Arielle Stevenson

Flavors they favor: Redliners guitarist and vocalist Justin Little treasures the bacon-laden Porkie’s Delight, a vanilla bean ice cream with bits of bacon mixed in. Drummer Chris Yack springs for one scoop of Spicy Chocolate Habañero and another of Banana Pudding. Bassist Brian Breseman digs into a cup of Blueberry Muffin Tops. “My flavor doesn’t sound nearly as hardcore as Justin and Chris’s.”

Church folks: Owners Bill and Leslee Workman know Little and the Redliners through the Relevant Church in Ybor City. Bill started making ice cream at home while still employed at his “square job.” His Ben and Jerry-esque flavors, like Coconut Curry and Drunken Brownie, became so popular that he was making 250 pints a month. When the “square” job ended, the Workmans decided to try their hands at opening an ice cream shop. By the looks of the line snaking out the door, that was a good decision.

An anthem to ice cream: The Redliners’“Viva la Revolution” is the official Revolution Ice Cream Co. jingle. When Little mentions the jingle during our interview, Bill quickly plays it for the whole shop to hear.

Watch out for: The Redliners’ new single, “Shout, Shout, Shout,” complete with a video shot at Revolution featuring Little and the guys dressed as vintage ice cream shop attendants.

Other Redliners haunts: O’Toole’s in Brandon (“For a pub, they’ve got restaurant quality food,” says Little) and Pop ’N Sons Diner.
