In Tampa, it's the last night to see Robert Reich's chilling documentary Inequality for All, which reveals startling statistics about America's widening economic gap. (Cue fizzling party horn.) ... We admit this is not the most Christmas spirit-filled offering out there tonight, but it's never a good time for a wake up call, is it? And we could all use some perspective during this most spendy of seasons, right?
Reich, an economist, author, and educator who was U.S. Secretary of Labor under Bill Clinton, teaches a course on wealth and poverty at the University of California Berkeley. Since the mid-1980s, Reich has been outspoken on the issue of the growing divide between America’s haves and have-nots.
The film shows at 7:30 p.m. tonight at Tampa Theatre, 711 N. Franklin St., Tampa. $11. tampatheatre.org.
