Fleetwood Mac welcomes back Christine McVie, closes out North American tour in Tampa

The band took to the Today show this morning to announce a new tour and the return of singer-keyboardist Christine McVie. What's more is that if all the awkwardness and weird vibes that may or may not be lingering from McVie's 16-year absence can survive a three-month jaunt across the continent, then the Mac will be closing out their "On With The Show" tour right here in Tampa this upcoming December 20 at the Tampa Bay Times Forum.

Rumours (pun intended) about McVie, 70, wanting to rejoin the group have been swirling around since the fall, but everything completely fell into place at the end of January when drummer Mick Fleetwood told Maui News that he and his band mates would be in the studio working on a new album by March.

The tour is also the first time the group, in any capacity, have hit the road since bassist John McVie was diagnosed with cancer. Billboard reports that the band's last tour (which stopped in Tampa last summer) grossed almost $62 million. The average attendance at those shows was 12,323, but that number should increase now that the pen behind Fleetwood Mac hits likes "Don't Stop,""You Make Loving Fun," and "Little Lies" is back in the lineup.

Tickets to the show go on sale to the general public on April 7. American Express card holders get first dibs starting March 31.
