Terminating is cool. by Brian Frederick The world of science fiction film news is never a dull one, with the new Star Wars cast dropping a few days ago, and today, some Terminator/Doctor Who headlines lighting up the space-time continuum. Matt Smith, better known as the Eleventh Doctor, has landed a “major role” in the upcoming Terminator reboot trilogy. But what exactly will the bubbly Brit be up to?

According to Deadline, Smith will have a role in the first film that will then blossom over the second and third chapters. No news yet about what the role entails, but Den of Geek is speculating that the former Time Lord might enjoy trying his hand at villainy. Considering the time-hopping Terminator series, one could only hope that somehow the TARDIS might be involved, but that is incredibly unlikely. At the very least, let's hope he wears a fez. Fezzes are cool.

Smith joins Game Of Thrones‘ Emilia Clarke (Sara Connor), Zero Dark Thirty’s Jason Clarke (John Connor), Jai Courtney (Kyle Reese), and someone named Arnold Schwarzenegger in an unknown role.

Terminator: Genesis, directed by Alan Taylor will be released on July 1, 2015.
