
Sarasota’s ALSO Youth, 1470 Boulevard of the Arts, will host a Zine Discussion & Partyhttp://www.meetup.com/TampaBayOpenMic/events/190427942/, Thursday, July 3, 4 to 10 p.m. The evening will start with a discussion on the history and impact of DIY publications, reading of zines and videos about the scene. Then around 6 p.m., supplies will be passed out so attendees can work on making their own zines.

Arts2Action Inc. and Sacred Grounds Coffee House in Tampa present its monthly Veterans Community Open Mic on Sunday, June 6, 6:30-9 p.m. This creative space is open not only to veterans, but also to families, community supporters, caregivers and allies.
Head to the Amsterdam on Sunday, 7:30 p.m., and Get Lit! Keep St. Pete Lit presents an evening of literature, word games and drinking. Part game night, part evening at the bar, plenty of word-minded games will be on hand so attendees can feel like getting lit makes them, well, more lit! The Amsterdam, a dog-friendly craft beer and wine bar, is located in St. Petersburg at 1049 Central Ave.
The Beach Art Center’s Kreative Kids & Teens offers kids ages 8 to 12 a weeklong Bookmaking & Storytelling Workshop starting Monday, July 7. The camp ends Friday, July 11, and runs from 9 a.m. to noon each day. Kids will make creative books and learn the art of creative writing and storytelling. They’ll also create comic strips and learn about creating a scene.
