On Monday, we covered and linked to a Gawker report about a staff walk-out at venerable NYC alt-weekly the Village Voice. The staffers were/are protesting low wages, disappearing benefits and shitty coffee, among other working conditions they deemed unacceptable.
CL just received a statement attributed to the Village Voice:
“The Village Voice values our employees, and we’re confident that we’ll achieve a mutually beneficial resolution — the hardest part may be getting this many New Yorkers to agree on what qualifies as a good cup of coffee.”
