Grecian Urns
One of the most anticipated reunions since the folk-pop ensemble called it quits in 2011 took place on the hot last night of May, at Green Bench Brewing, amid a heavily festive atmosphere stirred up by excited former fans and curious local music scenesters who’d never seen the Grecian Urns while they were active and wanted to find out what all the fuss was about. The bright young members were older and a bit less practiced but no less exuberant for it. Still brimming with warmth, they harmonized sweetly in those multi-voice chorales and got the room not only to shout but tap along during a “Bring Your Own Percussion” jam.
