In February, Queens of the Stone Age unleashed a battering ram of high-octane rock n’ roll, shaking the walls of St. Petersburg’s upscale Mahaffey Theater, spurring a few thousand double-fisted devil horns to pump in the air, and making a believer out of anyone in attendance who might’ve liked Queens already but never truly appreciated the Josh Homme-powered California rock band’s allure until seeing them take command of a room with pure magnetic force.
