The Temple Terrace Arts Council is accepting applications from fine artists and crafters for its 41st Annual Temple Terrace Arts and Crafts Festival, to take place Nov. 8-9, at the Event Field at Greco Middle School, 6925 E. Fowler Ave., Temple Terrace.
Applications are available on the Festival website, templeterraceartsfestival.shutterfly.com, or may be requested by calling 813-988-ARTS or emailing TTartFest@gmail.com.
The Festival attracts more than 100 artists and crafters from all over the United States, as well as nearly 15,000 attendees. The Festival offers approximately $5,000 in cash awards to artists and artisans at the discretion of experienced art judges. The event is open to the public and admission is free.
Up until this year, the Festival was held in Riverhills Park along the banks of the Hillsborough River. The new site at the event field at Greco Middle School will provide greater visibility and accessibility, additional parking and more space for artists and crafters to display their work.
This year’s festival will feature a children’s art area with their “Fresh Views” entries, a hands-on, public art project that will be installed at the event site for year-round display and entertainment by community ballet and theater groups and the King High School choir. The Festival includes and recognizes the artwork of children at more than 12 local schools.
Food trucks and other concessions will be available.
Proceeds from artist and crafter entry fees, sponsorships and concession sales go to support and encourage art and arts education in the Greater Temple Terrace community. Over the years, the generous support of Festival sponsors and participants has allowed the Arts Council to provide funding to the City of Temple Terrace to sponsor arts and crafts camps, as well as funding sculpture installations and art programs at area recreation centers and schools.
